2 Team Teaser Push

Posted on by admin

Straight Bets

Ties keep reducing the teaser down to a 2-team teamer. If you bought a two-team teaser to begin with, a push on either leg will cause the whole bet to push, even if the other leg is a loss. What I'm not sure of is what would happen with a 3-team teaser with two pushes and a loss. NFL Teaser Example. Here is what a two team 6.5 point NFL teaser bet would look like: Your selections: Pittsburgh Steelers +3 and Dallas Cowboys -4.5. In a 6.5 point teaser these would then be changed to: Steelers +9.5 and Cowboys -2. In order for you to win the teaser bet both incomes would have to be correct. Teaser Bets Our sportsbook sets industry standards by lowering the juice on special teasers to -110 or 1.91 (2 team 6.5 point special teasers and 2 team 7 point special teasers are not included). You must lay 11/10 minimum on all teasers and remember that ties push. To further illustrate exactly how teasers work, we’ll look at an example teaser based on the following three football matches. Let’s assume you decide to place a three team, six point teaser, for a stake of $50. You select the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Atlanta Falcons on the spread.

A straight bet can be made by choosing a team and the associated point spread. The cost of the bet typically is 10/11, or risk $110 to win $100.

Example:Los Angeles Lakers +7 Phoenix Suns -7

  • If you place a straight bet on the Suns -7, the Suns must win by 8 or more points for your bet to cash.
  • If you place a straight bet on the Lakers +7, the Lakers must win, or lose by 6 points or less, for your bet to cash.
  • If the Suns win by 7 points, both bets result in a “push” or “no action.” MyBookie will return the risked funds.

Teaser Bets

A teaser is a combination of between 2 and 10 football or basketball wagers. You adjust the point spreads and/or totals in your favor in exchange for a lower payout. When your teaser includes a point spread, you can decrease the spread for the favorite (or increase the spread for the underdog). When the teaser includes a total, you can increase the “under” or decrease the “over.”

  • MyBookie will grade the entire wager as a loss if any part of the teaser results in a loss. There are no partial payouts.
  • A push in a regular teaser of 3 or more teams will reduce the number of plays in the teaser. For example, a 5-team teaser that results in two pushes will become a 3-team teaser, and the payout will get recalculated based on the new number of plays.
  • A push or tie in any 2-team regular teaser will result in a push for the whole teaser, unless the other game gets graded as a loss. If any portion of a 2-team teaser is graded “no action,” the entire teaser will be graded “no action,” unless the other team is graded as a loss.
  • MyBookie will grade as “no action” any event which does not take place on the date specified in the wager, and the teaser will reduce accordingly.
  • In the event that any teaser selection pushes or ties, the following rules apply. For special teasers, any tie or push is considered a loss. For 2-team teasers, tie + win = push, and tie + loss = loss. For teasers of more than 2 teams, a tie reverts the teaser to the next lower level

Example:

2-Team, 5-point Teaser For $100

Bulls +4, Raptors -3

The 5-point teaser converts the lines to Bulls +9 and Raptors +2. The payout in a 2-team, 5-point basketball regular-season teaser is 14/10. In this case, you will lay $140 to win $100.

Pushes

In the event that any of the teaser selections result in a “push,” the following rules apply:

  • For 2-team teasers, tie + win = push, and tie + loss = loss.
  • For teasers of 3 or more teams, a tie reverts the teaser to the next lower level (ex.: 4-team teaser with 1 push reverts to a 3-team teaser).

Special Teasers

– NFL/NCAA Football Special Teasers are for 10 points (3 teams) and 13 points (4 teams).
– NBA/NCAA Basketball Special Teasers are for 7 points (3 teams) and 9 points (4 teams).
– For special teasers, any tie or push is considered a loss.
– For special teasers, any no action or cancelled game will cause the entire teaser to be graded No Action/Cancel.

Parlays

You can combine two or more teams or totals into one “parlay” wager. The more selections you combine, the greater the odds and the bigger the win amount.

  • Proposition plays and future bets can’t be parlayed.
  • MyBookie allows a maximum underdog odds of +500 for circled plays included in parlays.
  • In case of a tie or no action, the parlay will revert to a lower-level payoff, except in a 2-team parlay (tie reverts to a straight bet).

Note: MyBookie calculated these payouts on a flat line, which is -110.

Moneylines

MyBookie gives you the option to wager on which team is going to win, disregarding the point spread, with moneyline bets.

Example:

Knicks -280 Celtics +240

  • If you wager on Knicks -280, you lay $280 to win $100.
  • If you wager on Celtics +240, you lay $100 to win $240.
  • The line values are determined based on the point spread. When you bet moneylines, you bet on a team to win the game outright.
If Bets
2 Team Teaser Push

An “if” bet is the combination of 2-4 straight bets, joined together by an “if condition” or “if clause.” There are 2 possible conditions: “if win or tie,” or “if win only.” Likewise, each subsequent leg of the “if” bet will be placed as long as the preceding bet wins.

The main advantage of an “if” bet is that you can place multiple wagers with a limited amount of funds. You can use a single risk amount to place up to 4 wagers, which can be concurrent or overlapping. You can buy up to 3 points on each selection.

2 Team Teaser Push

Example:

New Orleans Saints -5 ($110 to win $100), IF (win, tie or cancel) San Francisco 49ers +4 ($110 to win $100)

  • If Saints -5 loses, the wager stops there and MyBookie grades it as a loss for -$110.
  • If Saints -5 wins (+$100), you continue to the 49ers wager.
  • If the 49ers +4 wins, the wager is a $200 winner.
  • If 49ers +4 loses, the wager is a $10 loss ($100 – $110).

Reverses

A reverse is an “if” bet going backward and forward. In other words, you enter 2 “if win only” bets. The max number of picks for a reverse is 4, and you can buy up to 3 points on each selection.

Round Robins

Round robins are bets where you pick 3 to 8 teams and match them in as many 2-, 3- or 4-team combinations as possible. When you place a round-robin wager, you aren’t allowed to keep open spots.

What Happens If You Push On A 2 Team Teaser

Example:

Bills -5, Patriots +2.5, Saints +7

Possible combinations are:

2 Team Teaser Push
2TP2TP2TP
Bills -5Bills -5Patriots +2.5
Patriots +2.5> Saints +7Saints +7

Note: Playing this round-robin for $100 involves putting $100 on each possible 2-team parlay combination for a total ticket of $300.

Futures

This is when you bet on a future outcome that is not dependent on a single game or performance. For instance, when you bet on the Super Bowl winner any time from the preseason to before the AFC and NFC Championship Game.

Exotic or Prop Bets

Also called a proposition bet, novelty bet or side bet, a prop bet is a wager that does not directly affect a game’s outcome. For example, the length of the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Live Betting

2 Team Teaser One Push

  • You can buy up to 3 points on football games. The charge is 10 cents per half-point.
  • If you’re betting on NBA games, you can buy up to 2 points. The charge is 10 cents per half-point.

What is a Teaser Bet?

When betting NFL teasers, the most common football teaser varieties are selecting two or three teams and teasing NFL lines by 6, 6.5 or 7 points. For football and basketball Teaser bets involving just two teams, when at least one selection is a tie or deemed to have no action, the entire bet is considered a push and all money is refunded. If any selection of a Super Teaser bet is a tie or deemed to have no action, the entire bet is graded as no action and all money is refunded.

What is a teaser? Simply put, a teaser is very similar to a parlay but with adjusted point spreads and a reduced payout. Essentially you are “buying” a set number of points.

For example, in the NFL a 2-team, 6-point teaser if fairly common. If you like the Patriots -7.5 and the Chiefs +1.5 then you can tease the two together to get the Pats -1.5 and the Chiefs +7.5. The standard bet on this is -120 so you have to bet $120 to win $100 and both sides have to win for you to win your wager. If either loses, the bet is graded as a loss.

Standard Teaser Payouts

Teasers are offered at different numbers for different sports and at different rates of return. The number of games and the points you will be able to buy and at what price is going to depend on where you place your bets and what sport you are betting on. I have went to great depths to compare the best teaser odds for NFL, college football, and basketball. Check those pages out if you are interested in which sports book to sign up for to get the best odds in each sport.

NBA/CBB 4-110+180+300
NBA/CBB 5-120+150+200

There are some online sports books that I recommend specifically for teaser betting. 5Dimes is by far my favorite for basketball but Bookmaker has some nice options as well. GT Bets, BetOnline, and Bovada are three options I would stress you take a look at if you want to do football teasers.

Teaser Rules for Pushes

The rules for pushes on teasers are generally the same everywhere. If one leg of your teaser loses, it doesn’t matter if you push or win the other side, you still lose the wager. However, a push with the rest of the legs winning will reduce the teams in the teaser. If on a 2-teamer you push and win, you push the bet. But if on a 3-teamer you push and win the other two legs, it will be graded similar to a 2-teamer.

Teaser Betting Strategy

I think most people know by now that teaser betting can be profitable if you know what you are doing. I want to educate you so that you too can be profitable and this explanation should be as simple as possible.

What Happens If You Have A 2 Team Teaser . And One Pushes ..

Teaser

Let’s calculate the rate each leg of your teaser needs to win at for the different odds. The formula is pretty simple. If the odds are +100 you need to win 50% of your bets (risk amount/(win amount+risk amount)). If the odds are -110 you need to win 52.38% (110/210). You then take the square root of those winning percentages and each leg of your teaser has to hit by this percentage in order to be profitable.

Odds2 Teams
+10070.72%
-11072.38%
-12073.86%
-13075.19%
-14076.38%

For 3 teams we have to take the cubed root of the required winning percentage to determine what rate each leg needs to hit at for it to be a profitable teaser bet.

How Do Teaser Bets Work

Odds3 Teams
-12081.71%
+12076.89%
+15073.68%
+16072.73%
+18070.95%

As you can see, sometimes you get better odds on 2-team teasers, but sometimes you are better off taking 3-teams if you like that many.

Now that you know how often each leg needs to win, how can you handicap winners based on those numbers? Well the key is to cross as many key numbers as possible.

Football Teaser Tips

Basic NFL teaser strategy says you want to teaser underdogs from +1.5 to +2.5 up six points so you can cross the key numbers of 3 and 7 to get to +7.5 through +8.5. Likewise you want to take favorite of -7.5 to -8.5 and tease them down to under a field goal.

However, I dug into the numbers and generally it’s the home teams that keep things close. If you take only home underdogs of +1.5 to +2.5 and home favorites of -7.5 to -8.5 you have a better shot at winning your teaser bets.

2 Team Teaser With Push

The strategy for college football teasers is a little different. Going back through history I have found the best numbers here are the small, road underdogs. If you can tease them up through the key numbers of three and seven you can turn a small profit.

2 Team 6 Point Teaser Push

Basketball Teasers

Basketball teasers work a little differently than football teasers. You get less points for one thing, but also there aren’t the same key numbers like in football. We’ve gone over thousands of basketball games in order to find the best numbers for teasers for both college basketball and the NBA.

Teaser Bet Push

What we have found is that in college basketball road favorite are typically good teams to tease. You want to hit the sweet spot of teams that are expected to win the game, then tease them down to where they barely have to get the W for you to cash.

The NBA doesn’t have a lot of options, but it’s similar. You want to get those big favorites down to a reasonable number. If a team is supposed to win by double digits it’s likely they are going to win the game. If the game is close at the end the team that is losing typically starts fouling. That is why you see teams that have a small edge with a minute to go end up winning by 5-7 points. If you can tease down into this sweet spot then you have a great chance of winning.
