Since 1876 we've been focused on two things: running great pubs and making great beer. Whether you’re looking to visit our new brewery, discover our estate of almost 200 pubs across England and France, learn more about our beers or work with us, you’re in the right place. About Wells & Co. Charles Wells Ltd (also known as Charles Wells Brewery and Pub Company, and previously as Charles Wells Family Brewery) was founded by Charles Wells in 1876. In 1875, a 2 1 ⁄ 4-acre site came to auction on the banks of the River Ouse as it ran through Bedford. Have certainly stuck by me. My family has got a long history with the brewery. My father-in-law was the Electrical Manager in the brewery under the Head Engineer; my wife used to work for the former Director of Registrar back in the day, while my daughter has worked in customer care.

Team Stories
From Kitchen Porter to Chef de partie, Callum has completed the Rising Stars programme and is consistently progressing his career with us. Callum explains why he loves working for Pizza, Pots & Pints:
'Working for this concept is fantastic; the teams are amazing, and the training and opportunities for progression are through the roof. I started at an entry level in the kitchen and the next step for me is Sous Chef. The atmosphere is relaxed and every day is different, the open-plan style kitchen also allows for a great vibe between the team and customers. Overall a brilliant company to work for.'
Callum, Chef de partie - Pizza, Pots & Pints
'I’m responsible for helping to spread the word about all great things happening in our pubs. My role involves promoting event marketing activity in our pubs, collaborating with our charity partners and driving sales of the great brands we stock. I love the varied nature of my role, spending lots of time in our Pub Partner estate and supporting our incredibly talented operators in maximising the potential of their business. The Wells & Co family feel is also really appealing to me; I’m part of a great team and have the resources I need to make a success of my work.'
Lauren, Marketing Activation Manager - Wells & Co.
'Wells & Co. have certainly stuck by me. My family has got a long history with the brewery. My father-in-law was the Electrical Manager in the brewery under the Head Engineer; my wife used to work for the former Director of Registrar back in the day, while my daughter has worked in customer care. We’ve all had a long relationship working together.
I like having discussions to try to help people so that they can get the best out of the efforts they’re putting in. Our Pub Partners work hard enough, we want to support all of them to help them run their businesses. From my perspective, it’s all about teaching people how to be aware of what their equipment can do and what it’s really for, so that they can get the best out of it.'
Robin Kaminski, Pub Trade Quality Manager - Wells & Co.
