5 Card Stud

All of the “stud” poker games you may have heard of or even played are derived from 5 card stud poker, which was the original stud game. The problem with 5 card stud is that each player gets dealt a total of 5 cards, where 4 of them will be face up. That means you don’t get to draw more cards, or pick the best 5 out of x cards. You’re stuck with what you get and that usually means that big hands aren’t that common. Also, since 80% of cards are exposed, it’s very easy for everyone to get a sense of how strong or how weak everyone is, thus reducing the importance of strategy. Having said that, this makes it the perfect stud game for anyone who’s fairly new at poker and especially to “stud” poker. Different Poker Games To Play

Omaha

Omaha is practially identical to Texas Holdem except that players are provided with 4 hole cards instead of 2 and they MUST use two fo their hole cards to make their hand. That aspect of the game typically means you’ll see a lot more big hands as compared to Texas Holdem.

RAZZ

RAZZ is all about making the worse possible poker hand using a combination of five cards out of seven available cards. As in all low hand games, pairs count against the player. That is, any hand with no pair defeats any hand with a pair; one pair hands defeat two pair or three of a kind, etc.
