Buchan Picnic Carnival February 12th to the 14th 2021

CLANBROOKE RACING AND BRYAN MARTIN RACING JOINT VENTURE OF A TOUR TO BUCHAN

We have been overwhelmed with the response to our Buchan Cup trip to take place in February 2021. For a town that was devastated by fire, this is our chance to give something back to the community. The trip is now fully booked ( for the Clanbrooke group ) but if Bryan Martin's group does not fill the other half , we will Re Open for Clanbrooke people. We look forward to sharing photos and stories from the trip next year.’

It promises to be a great weekend, with approx 4,000 attending the races and lots of other fun things on our itinerary to do. A great way to put some money back into a devastated town of Buchan and its Racing Community.

This filly was purchased by Robbie Griffiths at the Adelaide Magic Millions and is now a 2 Year Old, is Broken in and will go back into Pre-Training in Mid-November.

The hard work has all been done. The filly came home from Adelaide as a yearling, had a short spell, was Broken In and then had some education. She then went for a good break and is now returning to work for her first preparation. She is Super Vobis qualified and is by Starcraft which won 14 races including the Group One Australian Derby.

Starcraft is the Sire of 334 Winners including the brilliant Blue Diamond Stakes Winner Star Witness.

The Mare won 8 races and as a Broodmare is 4 foals for four winners including a stakes placed winner and one that won two in arow at Warwick Farm and Hawkesbury.

This filly will be trained by the very well-known and respected Robbie Griffiths along with his new Training partner Matthew de Kock at Cranbourne.

Robbie hand Mat have the score on the board as individual trainers but now they have joined forces and will make a formidable training partnership.

Win Number 9 for the 2020/21 Season...

Congratulations to all the owners of Kobe Princess. Kobe broke through for an overdue win today in the 4th race over 2046m at Benalla.

The mare was ridden beautifully by Dylan Dunne and always looked the winner from the turn to the finish.

Kobe has been frustrating over the last 12 months or so with a host of placings but unable to get that elusive victory.

But yesterday she won her third race with real authority.

Well done to all our owners and special thanks to Morgan Betts (Stable Manager), Trainer Luke Oliver and a great ride from Dylan Dunne.

It was especially nice to win the Ken King Thoroughbreds Handicap. Ken is a fellow Syndication colleague of Clanbrooke Racing and a long time friend in the business.

The highs and lows of the racing industry
- all in one weekend. That's what we have endured this week at Clanbrooke. The highs were really good results from our three runners -

- Perfect Illusion had his best result for the table since arriving from GB in finishing 2nd in the Weary Dunlop at Benalla on Friday

- Power Me Up finished a great 2nd at Albury yesterday being beaten only by the odds-on favourite from Melbourne.

-Think He Mei saluted in the wet at Yarra Valley yesterday franking the potential he has shown once he got out to a staying trip. More to come from this horse.

The low was the untimely passing of our So You Think mare Vin du Jour. Vinnie had a month old Prized Icon foal at foot but suffered complications on Friday and ultimately passed away on Saturday morning. The foal is fine and with the help of staff at Rosemont Stud, we have been able to get it onto a foster mum. Vinny was due to be served by our new Breeding Rights stallion, Strasbourg.
